The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1913 respectively, depict and name woollen factories at this location. A watercourse some 160 metres long from the Afon Ddu, named as a "mill lead" on the 1900 and 1913 maps, shows that water power was utilised. The buildings appear to hasve been demolished and the area is heavily wooded.
