The Free Reading and Recreation Rooms were founded in 1861 on land given by Mrs Mostyn of Segrwyd on Bridge Street. Designed by Richard Lloyd Williams in polychrome brickwork, it is a small complex of rooms, of which little original fabric or function can be discerned internally due to comprehensive modernisation and conversion.
