Description
The 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889 and 1900 respectively, depict the woollen factory here, though the 1st edition map does not apply the 'Snowdon' name. The 3rd edition, published in 1914, names the building as the Snowdon Bacon Factory. A weir on the Afon Seiont diverted water into a leat which cuts across a river meander, abutting the factory at its south gable. The building is still extant, in the centre of 'Riverside Camping, a camping and caravan site.
