Description
St Budoc's Chapel preceded St Botolphs mansion (NPRN 30177) which now stands on the site, reportedly some 100 yards to the west of the chapel building, which was incorporated into the walls of the mansion's outbuildings. The chapel was associated with a cemetery, the remains of cists containing bones having been exposed in the 19th century when the ground for the new mansion was excavated. The cemetery may have been early medieval, associated with a cult of `Budoc? from which the dedication of the priory was derived.
