A mid-Victorian terrace of buildings built on land which was formerly a field attached to the County Gaol and Union Workhouse. It was likely constructed in the early 1860s, contemporary with the public baths which formerly stood opposite (NPRN 415047).
The buildings, which have been used as both commercial and domestic premises, present a uniform, rendered facade, with entrances through single rectangular doorways topped by simple cornices supported by large brackets, rectangular second-storey windows (all modern) and a roofline topped with a simple cornice over chevrons, the different numbers delineated by brackets. The terrace from numbers 4-6 curves parallel with the street. Number 6 has two round-headed dormers.
