According to Johnston Community Council's website, 'Johnston is a popular village measuring just over a mile long, situated on the A4076 between Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. Founded as a small farming and mining village, the population has grown from just 99 in 1801 to over 2000 today. Johnston boasts wide-ranging amenities, including a Primary School, Off-Licence Fruit 'n' Veg Shop, Post Office, Bakery, Doctor's Surgery, Fish & Chip Shop, Indian Restaurant, Chinese Take-Away, Fishmonger, 24 hour Petrol Station, Hairdressing Salon, Chemist and 3 MoT Garages. Also, there is a Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Church, a Baptist Chapel (NPRN 11727), and St. Peter's Anglican Church (NPRN 228). There are five pubs - The Vine Inn & Restaurant, The Silverdale Hotel & Restaurant, The Windsor Hotel & Restaurant, The Railway Inn, and Johnston Country Club. Johnston is well-connected via public transport. Buses run regularly to Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Tenby. Johnston railway station is on the main line between Milford Haven, Swansea, Cardiff and London.'
