Description
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1873, 1899, and 1912 respectively, all depict a corn mill here, with a large, circular mill pond immediately to the west, fed by a 350 metres-long mill race from the Pentre-bychan Brook. The mill survives, converted to a dwelling and called Legacy Mill. It has three storeys and an attic, and is built of roughly-course sandstone with brick cambered window heads. The site of the pond is now occupied by divided ponds seemingly related to the water works on the north side of the road.
