Description
Modern field system located on the eastern edge of Hafren forest, approximately two miles south west of Llyn Clywedog and six miles north west of Llanidloes. The field system has a perimeter of roughly 3km and is a modern edition to the landscape - the first and second editions of the 6inch OS maps, published in 1891 and 1903 respectively, record that the area currently occupied by the enclosed field system was unimproved land known as 'Llechwedd y Glyn.' The field system was photographed in snowy conditions on 2nd April 2013 by Toby Driver, as part of the Royal Commission's programme of archaeological aerial reconnaissance.
