Description
The Sky Tower is a 73m (240ft) high recreational ride that originated at the 1988 Clydesdale Festival in Glasgow, and was brought to Rhyl as an attraction in 1993 at a cost of £825,000. The ride consisted of a glass observation deck that rose up a central shaft, and rotated while audio recordings gave information about the surrounding area.

The attraction closed in 2010 after concerns about the costs of refurbishment of the mechanisms and the observation deck was removed in 2015. The tower was retained as structurally sound and in 2017 was refurbished with light installations to turn it into a decorative beacon representing the renewed renegeration of the town.
