Description
A storeyed, stone-built farmhouse built across the slope with a fine view (deliberate?) of the uplands. The house is of central-entry plan-type with a symmetrical elevation including end chimneys. Kitchen and parlour flanked a central passage that led to an (added?) rear service lean-to, The farmhouse is essentially 'Georgian' but with vernacular elements, including narrow-chamfered beams and a substantial kitchen fireplace with chamfered beam and stone fireplace stair. Date: probably c. 1800, given the vernacular elements. The house was until recently derelict but roofed; roof and front wall collapsed during Winter 2018/19.

The surviving farmbuilding some distance E of the house is an altered 'barn-and-bay' range, i.e. originally a two-bay barn (threshing floor with opposed doorways and storage bay) with a separately entered cow-bay (the doorway is now blocked). An iron crock sunk into the wall of the cow-bay for storage is an unusual feature. The pegged tie-beam trusses with raking struts suggest that the range is broadly contemporary with the house.

There is an enclosed well-head (separately noted) between house and farmbuildings.
