Description
Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust describe the bridge as a 'three-arched stone bridge formerly carrying railway across river Clwyd. It was demolished in February 2013, as it was claimed to be in poor condition and unstable. Repair was not considered to be an effective or economically viable long-term solution.'
Pont Ruffydd straddles the historic counties of Flintshire and Denbighshire, and the communities of Trefnant and Bodfari. The bridge was photographed by Toby Driver during the Royal Commission's programme of archaeological aerial reconnaissance by Toby Driver on 28th February 2013.
