Description
Unusual cropmark enclosure recorded during the 2018 drought, close to the reputed site of a former holy well. The enclosure lies on level terrain and has one long north side, a curving west end, and an angled southern side, alomost kite-shaped. It is certainly an archaeological cropmark but is difficult to characterise or date. It lies just to the west of a holy well site recorded by DAT (PRN 9567), described as: 'Possible site of a natural spring located within the field to the south of Ffynnon-Fair farmstead (PRN 5870). Not shown on historic Ordnance Survey maps or modern mapping (M.Ings, 2011, from various sources)'
