DescriptionThe 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch Ordnance Survey maps, published in 1889 and 1905 respectively, depict a woollen mill at this location. A weir on the Afon Soden diverted water via a mill race 140 metres long to an elongated pond. From this, the water flowed past the south-east side of a rectangular building which must have been the woollen factory. An adjacent building depicted on the 1889 map is omitted from the 1905 edition, although the mill is still depicted as being in use.
