The 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889 and 1906 respectively, both depict a woollen factory at this location. Water was diverted from the Afon Sien to a mill race 200 metres long, and the tail race may have continued to feed the adjacent corn mill (NPRN 423886). A house, which must have been associated with the mill, remains by the roadside, but the mill building no longer exists.
