DescriptionThe 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1887 and 1906 respectively, both depict a woollen factory at this location; the earlier ,ap calls it 'Nant-y-pastai'. Water was taken from the Afon Cloidach, supplemented by water from the garden at the house Nant-y-pastai, and the 1906 map depicts a new triangular pond immediately north of the factory. The building is still depicted on modern maps.
