DescriptionTwo halves of a medieval gravestone formed part of the paving to the main entrance at Bodeilio (NPRN 15577). This is a mansion of 1602. The entrance referred to is presumably on the east side of the house where there is a small garden or forecourt.
The gravestone is thought to be twelfth or thirteenth century. It was a slab 1.8m long by 0.65m tapering to 0.5m. It bore an incised cross on a rectangular stem rising from a base of three steps. It was badly worn in 1937.
