Description

A medieval parish church now completely rebuilt. The medieval borough of Llanfaes is thought to have been located close to the church until its removal to Newborough (NPRN 32992) in 1303. Closer to the shore was a Franciscan Friary (NPRN 300910).

The church is constructed of limestone with grit dressings and slate roof. The west tower was built in 1811, the chancel, nave and spire were built in 1845, and the north chapel and south aisle are rather later. The church retains a numebr of eighteenth century memorials.
