Description
The lych gate at St Michael's Church (NPRN 43893) is a Grade II listed building, thought to date to the seventeenth or eighteenth century. It was inserted into the south-east bank of the churchyard, which was later walled around. The lych gate is a gabled structure, constructed of rubble stone, with a slate roof. There are arched entries under each gable, both outside and in. The interior is whitewashed, with narrow stone benches on each side. The floor is cobbled, and its outer part is a cattle grid, presently covered by slate flagstones.
