This lychgate is a Grade II listed building. It is located at the entrance to the steeply sloping churchyard of St Philip's Church (NPRN 43899). It was erected in 1927 in memory of Catherine Jane Holland, widow of Samuel Holland, MP for Meirioneth from 1870 to 1885 (who purchased the Caerdeon estate in 1875) . The lychgate is built in a similar style to the church.
