DescriptionOnce an inn, Lord Nelson House is now a three-storey Georgian house. interconnected to several other ranges. The walls are roughcast rendered and painted with raised rendered quoins and window surrounds and it has a slate roof with brick end stacks. There are sash windows with channelled architraves and voussoirs; all 6/2 panes. There is also a late nineteenth century flat-roofed extension to the whole of the ground floor. It is attached on the right to Nelson Cottage, a former separate cottage range of smaller dimensions with a hipped pantile roof and retaining some 12-pane sashes. At the rear, the main house is attached to a former warehouse range now called Mermaid Cottage.
