One of a group of surface mines, either for lead or trials for gold. Probably late C19 but it is not shown on the 1900 OS map, in which case it might be earlier.
Trench 5m long, 1.5m deep and 4m across, orienated E-W. Spoil to downhill side, heather-covered.
