C19 quarry shown (with nprn 500699, 500702) on the 1900 OS map as a large area of disturbed ground. Large pit 15 x 10m, and up to 2m deep at N end; exposed shaley stone deposits. 2 subsidiary pits to W, and spoil mound to E, up to 2.5m high. A quarry or gravel pit.
