Description

The inner defensive wall of Crug Hywel hillfort encircles the top of Crug Hywel (Table Mountain). The wall survives as a stony bank 5 metres wide and stands above the interior by 0.2 to 0.5 metres. It forms a tear-drop shape in plan, tapering at the northwest end. On the northeast side there is an 8 metre wide break allowing for the entrance. The wall encloses an area roughly 100 metres by 50 metres. The ground cover was grass at the time of survey. N.A. Vaughan, ArchaeoPhysica Ltd, 09/05/2007
