Site Record

A linear range of three quarry buildings within Chwarel Cefn Du quarry (NPRN 400667). The range measures 16m long by 5.5m wide. The gable ends survive to full single storey height. The central cell was built first with the others attached later. The southern gable end wall is heavily buttressed and is under threat of collapse. Each cell has a door and window on the eastern (front) wall elevation. The northernmost cell has been constructed using concrete mortar and has an external stone facade. It also has a window to the rear and a possible fireplace. The site is marked on both the OS 1st Edition and current mapping. P.J. Schofield, OANorth, 27th June 2007
