Description
A stone-built platform situated just off of the north side of the main footpath leading from Llanberis to Mt Snowdon. It measures 10m long by 5m wide and is raised by 2m on its western side. On the opposite side of the pathway is a slight rectilinear platform cut into the hillslope measuring up to 9m long by 4m wide. It is much disturbed but could relate to the original position of 'Halfway House' a 19th century hiking shelter/cafe shown on the 1st Edition OS mapping. It has been replaced by the current Halfway House Cafe which resides some 880m downslope on the path to the north. P.J. Schofield, OANorth, 30th January 2008
