A small cottage is referred to in and shown on the plan accompany in sales particulars annoucing the sale of various landholdings belonging to the financially troubled railway builder/speculator Thomas Savin in 1866. The cottage was not recorded by the OS at time of the compilation of the 1st editon mapping in 1886. Hence, it would seem likely that it suffered from subsisdence and had been demolished. The cottage formed part of the parcel of land including the brickworks at Ynys Tachwedd (see NPRN 506517).
