Description
Archaeological remains associated with the loss of this vessel are not confirmed as present at this location, but may be in the vicinity.

Event and Historical Information:
The HUMILITY was a 150ton wooden brig built at Sunderland in 1828 and registered at Weymouth (official number 21502). The brig was carrying a cargo of clay from Poole to Runcorn. The vessel had been leaky since 20 October when the master put into Plymouth. Although, the pumps had been kept going, the brig had by now become unmanageable. The master, William Washer, anchored off Borth on 10 November 1872 waiting to get into Aberdyfi harbour. In the afternoon of the 11 November, the attempt was made but the brig got to leeward of the channel and the master had to anchor in 5 fathoms to wait again. At low water, the vessel went aground near Moel Ynys, its anchor having dragged.
