Late C19 coal level shown as 'old' on 3rd ed county OS map. The entrance is a cutting 20m long N-S, by 6m wide and 4m deep at the uphill (S) end. Further uphill is a line of pits suggesting subisdence of underground working (nprn 507324, 507325).
