Remains of late C19 engine house at the top of an inclined plane (nprn 507421), which was used to convey coal to Hirwaun from a small coal level (nprn 507417). First shown on the 2nd ed county OS map, by which time the level had already ceased production. Approximately 13m NNE-SSW by 10m, divided into 3 units by spine walls, presumably housing the engine, flywheel and winding drum. Coursed-rubble walls are up to 1m high but are substantially earth-covered.
