C19 coal level marked as a 'trial level' on 1st ed county OS map, and probably therefore disused by that time. It is within a cutting 10m long, 1.5m wide at the base, with a steep bank on the south side only. The entrance to the adit is a rubble-stone arch 1.25m wide, wlthough the face is missing, leaving the core of the structure exposed.
