Description
Trial coal level close to a track (nprn 507429) and uphill of a more substantial coal working (nprn 507427). It survives in the form of a cutting 10m long N-S, by 3m wide and 1m deep. Spoil is heaped up on the sides to form banks. Probably excavated with the intention of digging a coal level, but evidently abandoned.
Recorded as part of Uplands Initiative Survey. R Hayman, H&H, 25/09/2009.
