Description
Large post-medieval sheepfold shown on 1st ed county OS map. It has 2 cells of 4x5m internal diameter, a wall extending 25m to the W, and another wall curving round on the N side and extending N for 15m. Each of the cells has 2 components separated by a dividing wall. In one there is a stone flag floor. In the other is a lower sump with corresponding aperture in the outside wall, suggesting use for sheep washing. Drystone walls are field stone in variable state of preservation, but standing up to 1m high. Site overlies an earlier settlement (nprn 300093).
