Late C19 coal level first shown on the 2nd ed county OS map, within a small quarry which is necessarily slightly earlier (nprn 507573). A cutting approximately 20m long E-W by 10m and up to 8m high. At the downhill end is a level platform created by spoil, cut by a quarry track (nprn 507570).
