Description
Round-headed freestone monolith, 0.4 x 0.1m in plan, standing 0.5m high, the rest buried. The W face reads 'SIR / JRD / 1882', the E face inscribed ' W de W / 1882'. 'W de W' refers to the de Winton family, who were major landowners here from at least the 1830s, at which time they are mentioned in the Tithe survey.
