Belonging to Arenig Quarries (nprn 511408). C20 electricity generating station disused by the time of the 1953 OS map, which provided power to nearby granite quarries (nprn 510972, 511246). Stands next to a quarry tramroad (nprn 510953), and sited on a level platform, with rubble-stone sill. A roofless gabled brick building is 10m N-S by 7.5m. Walls are 2.9m high, except for the gable ends, and in places are leaning outwards. Openings have wooden lintels. Insidde the building is a plinth 1.4m by 1m, with holding-down bolts. Two long, narrow pits extend 8m beyond the S end of the building and are 0.8m and 0.5m wide. Oustide of the building they have timber baulks (to absorb shock) and holding-down-bolts. On the W side is a wheelpit with concreted and plated sides. It is 0.6m wide and was probably built for a single or double Pelton wheel. One bearing survives. On the outflow side of the wheelpit is a small tail-race, curving round to the NW away from the building to the adjacent stream.
