Site Record

Standing on a low mound to the north of Castlell Dolwyddelan and east of Afon Tanycastell is a commemorative stone dedicated to John Jones of Talsarn (1797-1857) the Welsh Calvinistic Methodist minister, who gave a sermon at this location in 1821. The stone is a 1.8m high, 0.8m wide undecorated slate slab, with inscribed text on one face. Several large peices of white quartz have been placed around the base. M.Railton, NPA, 20th October 2010
