Description
Ruins of a hut on the N side of a stream. Drystone walls up to 3m high, 9.5m E-W by 4.5m. Blocked S entrance, and an inserted entrance on the N side, perhaps made in the C19 when the building was re-used as a sheepfold (it is marked as a sheepfold on the 1890 OS map). Probably of 2 units, and not necessarily contemporary given that the unit walls are not in complete alignment. The division is also marked by a large edge-set slab.
Recorded as part of Uplands Initiative Survey. R Hayman, H&H, 20/01/2011.
