The quarry (nprn 513583) is marked on the 1887 OS map and the hut is probably associated with it. A 3-cell structure of overall dimensions 14.5m N-S by 4m. The central unit appears to have been roofed (and is marked as such on the 1901 OS map), whereas the end units appear to have been open-fronted to the E. Drystone walls survive up to 1.5m high. In the central unit is a doorway in the E wall 0.7m wide. Probably used by quarrymen.
