DescriptionGeneral: a manganese mine on the remote slopes of Mochowgryn, in the Migneint, east of Ffestiniog.

OAN Site Visit 2008. The site is duplicated as PRN 21832 in the Gwynedd HER. It is shown as disused on the 1st Edition OS mapping. The site complex consists of a line of scooped workings running roughly east/west following the mineral vein up the hillside. There are many scoops and finger dumps on the western end. In the centre of the site there are two deep stope cuttings measuring up to 6m deep and to the south-east of these is a long cutting leading to an open adit mouth which is still visible running into hillside. At the eastern end of the site are two small yards with buildings, (NPRN 514632 and 514634) and a wheel pit (NPRN 514633). The eastern end of the mine including the mine buildings and stopes are shown on the RCAHMW Aerial Photographic interpretation. P.J. Schofield, OANorth, 19th November 2008.
