Description
A small rectangular miners' hut that is partly sunken into the hillside and is set within a small yard. The hut has a hooded end door. It measures approximately 4.5m long by 3m wide with walls surviving up to 1.4m high that are constructed of angular quarried stones. The yard is walled and measures approximately 10m square with the walls revetted into the slope up to 0.5m high. The yard contains two small dumps of crushed ore, probably for testing purposes. The hut and yard is part of an extensive manganese mine complex (NPRN 514501). It is shown on both the 1st Edition and current OS mapping and on the RCAHMW Aerial Photographic interpretation.
