Site Record

A single celled rectangular longhouse foundation located on the east side of Afon Hesgyn. It measures approximately 9m long by 4m wide and has orthostatic stone foundations that survive up to 0.8m wide by 0.5m high. The longhouse is cut perpendicularly into the hillside on the east side although it is not platformed on the opposite side, but this end has been truncated. The structure is attached via a long linear boundary bank (NPRN 514952) to a deserted rural settlement (NPRN 514980) located further to the north. P.J.Schofield, OANorth, 23rd February 2009.
