Any remains of this aircraft are designated as a Protected Place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The Act makes it an offence to interfere with the wreckage of any crashed, sunken or stranded military aircraft without a licence. Event and Historical Information:
This Spitfire was built by Vickers Armstong, Castle Bromwich, and was assigned to 631 Squadron. On 24 November 1948, the aircraft's engine failed and it made a forced landing on Harlech beach. The pilot survived.
