The remains of this aircraft are designated as a Protected Place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The Act makes it an offence to interfere with the wreckage of any crashed, sunken or stranded military aircraft without a licence. Event and Historical Information:
This Spitfire was built by Vickers Armstrong at Castle Bromwich. Its service life included assignments to 2 APS, 226 OCU and 1689 Flight. It crashed during a forced landing in Pembrokeshore on 29 may 1948.
