The remains of this aircraft are designated as a Protected Place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The Act makes it an offence to interfere with the wreckage of any crashed, sunken or stranded military aircraft without a licence. Event and Historical Information:
This Spitfire was one of 97 delivered between June and September 1939. Its service life included assignments to 19 Sq, 610 Sq and lastly 53 OTU. On 13 March 1941, the aircraft crashed into New Street, Beaumaris, after being abandoned out of control.
