The remains of this aircraft are designated as a Controlled Site under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. For further information on this Act and its administration with regard to aircraft, please contact the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre, RAF Innsworth, Gloucester, GL3 1RZ.

Event and Historical Information:
This Spitfire was delivered to the RAF in the latter half of 1939. Its service life included assignments to 610 Squadron, 266 Squadron, 7 and then 57 Operational Training Unit. On 11 August 1941, the aircraft crashed after hitting a tree on the approach to Hawarden.
