An anchorage symbol is shown on an historic chart. Sailing Directions dating to 1884 note that Lynch Pool '? extends from half a mile within Burry-holm to a little above No 2 buoy; where the depth is now reduced to 6 and 8 feet at low water, good holding ground, but it is much exposed with westerly and northerly winds.'
