Description

The wreck lies in 54m of water and is orientated 200 (bow)/020 (stern). The wreck is 75m in length, heeled to starboard and is collapsed in its centre section. It also has a large hole on the port side.

The wreck was originally identified by the UKHO as the ROBERT EGGLETON (NPRN 271658). Research by Dr Innes McCartney (2022: 221) for the Echoes from the Deep project, following a detailed survey by Bangor University, identified the wreck as being dimensionally, positionally, and archivally consistent with the SOMERSET COAST (NPRN 271587), and its record has been updated to reflect that new research.
