The wreck of the FRANCOISE DE LILLE lies in 74m of water and is orientated 190 (bow)/010 (stern). The wreck is 41m long and 8m wide (McCartney, 2022: 193).
The wreck was originally designated by the UKHO as 'Unknown'. Research by Dr Innes McCartney (2022: 193) for the Echoes from the Deep project, following a detailed survey by Bangor University in May 2017, identified the wreck as being generally consistent with the loss of the FRANCOISE DE LILLE. The record has been updated to reflect that research.
