The remains of this aircraft are designated as a Protected Place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. The Act makes it an offence to interfere with the wreckage of any crashed, sunken or stranded military aircraft without a licence. Event and Historical Information:
This Sea Vampire was assigned to 727 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm. The airfield crashed into the ground due to loss of height during a roll on the 5th July 1958. The pilot was killed.
