Site Record

A stony spoil heap, possibly associated with 19th century quarrying rather than mining. It is shown on the 1877 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map. An ?Old Quarry? (NPRN 516338) is shown just to the east on that map, and the spoil heap seems to respect a tramline which passes immediately to its southern edge, which is shown as a trackway on the 1877 map. J.J.
